HEROES IN TRAINING

10th August 2017

The Northfield Adventurer Club held their first ever Investiture programme on Sabbath 29 July 2017. Officiating the service were residing minister Pastor Obinnaya Iheoma, NEC Teens sponsor Pastor Isaac Liburd as guest speaker and Northfield Area coordinator Len Stewart. We were also supported by the Worcester Pathfind

er Club who provided a beautiful instrumental of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing performed by the string group, Worcester Harmonies. Bournville Adventurer and Pathfinder Club and Drum Core also came to support the investiture.

Our six Adventurers no doubt was pleasing in the eyes of God as they received their certificates, awards and pins for successfully completing the curriculum year. In addition, Club director Carlatta Holmes was invested as a Master Guide by Area coordinator Len Stewa

rt after successfully completing the Master Guide programme which proved to be a wond erful achievement.

Reflecting on tRecieving-Master-Guide-Certificate-he day and the development of the club, Pastor Obi said, "what a great example set by the Club director Carlatta Holmes who took on the challenge not only to lead the club but went on to be invested as Master Guide on the day."

The Adventurers recited a poem 'Heroes in training for Christ' pledging that "their sword will be the word of God, they will gird their loins with truth, their shoes trod with peace, their shield will be faith and that to God they will be true to the end."

Let us pray that our heroes in training will grow into soldiers for Christ.
